It’s October, and you know what that means: The Cyberpunk Hero exclusive article, The Good, The Bad and the Badass!
The Good:
Stargate is on mid-season hiatus, and the second season of Doctor Who is filling the gap. Folks, we have a winner. The Tenth Doctor is just as good as the Ninth (and I was helluva impressed with the Ninth) and writing still has just the right levels of sci-fi, humor, cheese and raw awesome. If for some reason you aren’t watching Doctor Who then you need to start. Now. (Or rather, on Friday.) Trust me, it’s Good.
Oh, yeah, and Battlestar Galactica started too. Ehh. I didn’t watch the previous two seasons, but I researched all the lore and stuff so I could follow this season. It’s good. Not Doctor Who good, but good.
The Bad:
Mark Foley. WE GET IT. REPUBLICANS ARE BAD. REPUBLICANS ARE DUMB, CORRUPT FUCKS. STOP RUBBING IT IN.
OH SHIT. OH SHIIIIIIIIIT. THIS IS BAAAAAAAAAAAD.
The Badass:
Arbitrary holidays are Badass. Take Columbus Day, for example. Does anyone really want to celebrate the day that some random European dude happened to get a little lost, stumbled onto an island or something and starting enslaving people? Didn’t think so. But we take the day off because any excuse to skip a day of school/work/crime is worth it.
The same goes for the other October holiday: Halloween. Once again, totally random. It’s the day before a minor religious holiday. Woo hoo. But it’s just such a fun idea that we can’t let it go. And, in its own way, that’s Badass.
(PS. If that wasn’t Badass enough for you, try this:

There. Happy?)
